A Classic Game of Listening and Quick Reactions
Simon Says is a timeless game that challenges players to carefully follow instructions – but only when prompted with ”Simon says.” This fun and engaging game tests both attention and reflexes, making it ideal for parties and gatherings.
Materials Needed:
- No materials required
How to Play:
Choosing Simon:
- One child is chosen to be the game leader, called ”Simon.”
- The other children spread out in the room, standing in front of Simon.
Gameplay:
- Simon gives commands, such as “Simon says: stand on one leg!” while demonstrating the action. The players must do exactly as Simon says.
- However, if Simon gives a command without saying ”Simon says” first (e.g., “Pinch your nose”), the players should remain still. Anyone who follows this command by mistake is out of the game.
- The game continues with various instructions, and anyone who either moves when they shouldn’t or doesn’t follow the ”Simon says” commands is eliminated.
Winning the game:
- The game goes on until only one player remains. This last standing player becomes the new Simon for the next round.
Tip: For themed parties, you can rename ”Simon” to fit the theme, such as ”Sea Captain” for a pirate party or ”Wizard” for a magical-themed party.
